OXFORD, OH - Ben Roethlisberger, the Super Bowl MVP quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, added another item to his impressive resume this weekend by finally graduating from Miami University nine years after leaving the school for the NFL. A bachelor’s degree in education seems trivial to his current life as a star athlete, but it is a key credential for his planned post-football career as a creepy gym teacher.
Roethlisberger knows football careers can end suddenly, and wants the next chapter of his life to be just as fulfilling as the current one. “I asked myself, if I wasn’t able to play football, what’s my next favorite thing? Immediately, ‘leering at high-school girls’ jumped into my head! The rest was easy, because creepy gym teachers definitely get the most chances to do that."
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is proud of his QB’s accomplishment. “Ben has always looked the part of the grimy ex-jock nursing a hangover. It’s great to see him get this degree and take one more step towards making it a reality."
