SAN FRANCISCO - Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook confirmed today via concussion that he has in fact signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. While speaking to reporters, Westbrook received a concussion when he nodded an affirmative yes and somehow hit his head on a microphone. Westbrook was expected to be out for 4-6 weeks. However, after the concussion, he sat down to take off his shoes and promptly sprained both ankles. He now could miss up to eight weeks. Speaking from his home via web cam this morning, a bed-ridden Westbrook said he is "happy to be a 49er and also, to have health insurance again. I'm looking forward to getting back out there for at least a couple plays this season. I can't wait to get a hand-off from uh... from uh...." As Westbrook was trying to recall the name of this year's 49ers quarterback, a blood vessel popped in his forehead, bled all over the screen and effectively cut out the connection.
