The Sports Grim Reaper has had a busy few months, killing off Giants Stadium, Ken Griffey Jr's baseball career, umpire Jim Joyce's credibility and Tiger Woods' image in recent past. Next up on his list? The Big 12 conference, which is on its way to death as a prosperous football conference in light of news that six teams from the league will be invited to join the Pac-16. As of Friday, Nebraska has officially left to join the Big 10, which will likely have a trigger effect as powerhouses such as Texas bolt for increased revenue opportunities in a conference out West. The Big 12 is not officially dead yet, but rest assured that the Sports Grim Reaper is on his way to the conference headquarters in Irving, Texas as we speak.
