
Former New York Mets general manager Steve Phillips has made a habit out of displaying a lapse in judgment. From Brooke Hundley to Mo Vaughn, Phillips has truly made some terrible choices in the past, often doing or saying something that makes him come off downright stupid. His reported comments on the Mike Francesca Show this afternoon, though, take the cake for his most illogical train of thought yet. Speaking about the team he once worked for (somehow), the Mets, he said that he’d deal Washington Nationals pitching prospect Stephen Strasburg to the Houston Astros for recently made available Roy Oswalt straight up.
Which is certifiably insane, for a number of reasons that should go without saying.
