Ervin Santana just threw a no-no, CC almost pitched a perfect game, the M’s are mired in a miserable stretch of losing, yet all the baseball world is abuzz with umpire Jerry Meals blown call in last night’s Braves/Bucs 19-inning battle. While we realize umps have a difficult job and can’t be perfect, Meals mistake is inexcusable. He has had a well documented history of incorrectly calling people safe, and considering those blown calls have led to disastrous results, you’d think he’d know better by now.
