Joe Buck is the recipient of plenty of criticism. Some of it from the public. Plenty of it from the Internet [which is like the public, but meaner]. Most, if not all of it, deserved. Take your choice: his lame quips, his Muppet-like face, his deadpan delivery, that Slam-a-lama-ding-dong Budweiser commercial he made several years back that I’m reminded of every time I look at his Muppet-like face. All fair game.

But what always killed me about Buck was he never seemed to want to call baseball games. Football was more appealing to him. Football moved the needle. He went into hysterics when Randy Moss faux-mooned the Lambeau Field crowd, yet Nelson Cruz hits a walk-off grand slam in the ALCS and Buck’s call could best be describe as hovering above blasé. Say what you will about his broadcast partner Tim McCarver [and Joe Posnaski has plenty to say], but at least...
