Will Goodell Drop The Hammer On Vick?
Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick is back in the news again for the wrong reasons. The NFL is currently gathering facts about a shooting that occurred at Vick’s 30th birthday party last week. Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in Vick’s dog fighting trial, was the shooting victim and there has been no link to Vick as the shooter. According to reports, though, Vick may have violated his grounds for reinstatement into the league by associating with another defendant from the infamous dog fighting case. Right now, Vick’s status with the league is up in limbo. If for some reason Vick was more involved in the shooting—or should he have simply invited Phillips against the league's wishes—then he could face more discipline from the league, which already gave him a second chance. Indeed, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could drop down the hammer, Zombieland-style.
