When Mascots Attack
On May 25, 2010, Tampa Bay Rays utility infielder Sean Rodriguez was attacked by an actual ray while swimming at the beach near his home. According to research conducted by Stats LLC, it was the first instance in which an athlete was attacked by a real-life version of their team’s mascot. The Tauntr.com research staff wasn’t satisfied with the quality of the report, however, prompting them to investigate even deeper in hopes of discovering more examples. The video evidence the team discovered is quite shocking.
