Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry wasn’t feeling well during his team’s Game 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. Gentry was forced to coach the first half with a bucket near the Suns’ bench in case he needed to throw up. He was hoping that it wouldn’t come to that, and if it did, that the media wouldn’t notice.
Well, not only did Gentry vomit, it was caught on camera for the world to see.
According to Gentry’s daughter, Alexis, the culprit was an artichoke. Alexis tweeted this shortly after the game: EXCLUSIVE INSIDE INFO: it was actually a fried artichoke that made my dad sick. There you go tweeps- fried artichoke made Alvin Gentry puke.
Tauntr’s gif expert, Fred McGif, thinks the artichoke story is just a cover up, however. Instead, the real cause was that he couldn’t get the image of the three ugliest players in the NBA—Phoenix’s own Steve Nash, who has never looked worse than after being beat up this playoffs, Chicago’s Joakim Noah and Los Angeles’ Pau Gasol—out of his head. Gasol and Nash, of course, were on the court when the incident happened, but apparently the thought of Noah’s ugly mug is what really pushed him over the edge.
At least that’s what Freddie believes, and that's his story and he's sticking to it.
