Titans threaten to move sinkhole to 50-yard line if Chris Johnson doesn’t resign
NASHVILLE — A large sinkhole that has opened up near LP Field will be moved to midfield if Titans running back Chris Johnson refuses to report to training camp, team officials say. Titans owner Bud Adams is furious that his star running back is threatening to hold out of camp, and says he will figure out a way to get that sinkhole to midfield if Johnson doesn’t comply. “He’s going to be out there on that field in 2010 whether he likes his contract or not,” said Adams. “So he can come to camp and things will be peachy, or I’m gonna move that sinkhole in and he can see how his yards per carry fare when he has to think about avoiding falling into the earth. It’s his choice to make.” LP Field was flooded earlier this spring, sustaining $3 million in damages. With Johnson seeking $30-40 million guaranteed, Adams isn’t too happy. “You want to see how many more dollars I’m willing to give Chris right now?” asked Adams. “Two.” He then gave the double-bird flip off to the reporters, slipped into his golf cart and rode back to the team offices from outside the stadium.
