Tauntr Links: Catching Up With Dez, Others

  • You can all stop holding your breath now. Dez Bryant and Roy Williams have resolved the whole carrying-pads issue that has, like all other squabbles, been blown way out of proportion by the media. Move along, move along. (But a bit more on this in a post to come, so don't move along quite yet)
  • Matt Garza no-hitter tickets are going for charity .. or, the Rays just don't want you to know what it feels like to play in St. Pete. Either way, get yours!
  • If you missed this column by Jason Cole at Yahoo! Sports from a few days ago, now is your chance to catch up as Cole gives you 20 story lines heading into the NFL season. Great stuff by Cole, as usual.
  • Yao Ming's career could be over if his foot doesn't come around. Sad story about the fickleness of professional sports. Ming is an impact big man when healthy, but he can never stay on the court. What an NBA-caliber pounding will do on a body is hard to predict, which is why the whole city of Portland can't be expecting much out of the career of Greg Oden.
  • See, lunatics play golf, too!
  • OK, I don't feel sorry for Erin Andrews. Not at all, for many reasons. But I know I wouldn't want to deal with this kind of crap while simply walking through an airport. Woman can't go anywhere without being asked stupid questions by stupid people (yes, that's means the douche bag holding the camera for TMZ). But, at the very least, Erin needs to take her own advice and brush up on her fantasy football as her prediction is not so ... hot.
  • Argentina says goodbye to Maradona as coach. For a sport that can't afford to get more boring, soccer (well, international soccer that is) just got infinitely more boring.
