Roy Williams tells dying cancer patients it could be worse, they could be 2-7 in ACC
CHAPEL HILL — After losing 64-54 to Duke Thursday night, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams visited a children’s hospital in Chapel Hill to cheer up some dying cancer patients. “It could be worse,” said Williams to group of kids going through intense chemotherapy. “You could have just lost to Duke and be 2-7 in the ACC.” Williams tried to relate with the children, most of whom have less than a year to live, by talking about how there is virtually no chance for UNC to become back-to-back NCAA Champions now. “This loss is like a malignant tumor,” said Williams. “It’s like Billy’s tumor over there, only it’s as big as a basketball and it’s not on your face, it’s in your heart.” Williams then went home to cry on his butler’s shoulder as his live-in pedicurist buffed his heels.
