Peyton Manning wishes he was Eli for the first time in his life
MIAMI — After throwing the pick six that sealed the Saints victory in Super Bowl XLIV Sunday night, for one brief, fleeting moment, Peyton Manning wished he was his brother Eli for the first time in his life. “It was crushing,” said Manning of the interception. “I actually care about football, whereas my brother doesn’t. He’s a great kid, but he really doesn’t have the mental capacity to be utterly disappointed in himself. At that moment I wish we could’ve traded places, because he would take this loss much better than I can.” After the game Eli Manning was oddly devoid of emotion. “Are we going to Applebee’s now?” Eli asked as Peyton exited the locker room. “I like Applebee’s!”
