Offseason champs probably still wind up fourth place in NFC East
WASHINGTON—The Washington Redskins have had a busy offseason upgrading the talent on their roster. The latest acquisition of quarterback Donovan McNabb, along with earlier signings of veteran running backs Willie Parker and Larry Johnson have dubbed the Redskins “offseason champs” of the NFL. “I guess Dan Snyder thinks he’s gearing up for the 2004 season,” said new Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan. “Yeah, go ahead and give us the 2004 Lombardi Trophy now. Oh wait, it’s 2010? Shit.” Shanahan continued, “Okay, go ahead and give us the fourth place trophy in the NFC East. And a top five pick in the 2011 draft. Oh wait, I think we gave that to the Steelers for Willie Freaking Parker.”
