North Carolina man receives world's first Scheyer face transplant
RALEIGH - A North Carolina man is overjoyed today after surgeons completed an operation that would give him the world's first Scheyer face transplant. The patient, Duke Fan John DeForester, has followed Jon Scheyer's career closely and has always admired his facial elasticity. When Jon Scheyer's face was injured in the NBA's summer league, it was immediately removed for safety, placed in a jar of whole milk in order to preserve it and then airlifted to St. Kryzewski's in Raleigh for the transplant. Even though he's just out of surgery, the transplant has been deemed a success. "He seems to be responding perfectly," the lead surgeon told the press. "He drools when he talks. He makes a retarded facial when we bring him food. And he gets this really gay look on his face when he's up and walking around. Just like we expected. Just like how the face responded to the original owner." DeForester, hopes to show off his new face at a pickup basketball game next thursday before his body's facial muscle control begins to set in.
