Merriman leaves Chargers to mend relationship with Tila Tequila
SAN DIEGO—San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman told team executives yesterday that he would be taking a leave of absence in order to work on his tenuous relationship with the inexplicably famous Tila Tequila. The two have had their share of trials, including, most notably, an alleged domestic violence incident last fall. But now it appears that Merriman is ready to take the Shot at Love star seriously. “It’s good to see him finally growing up,” said a source that knows the couple. “What kind of man spends time working while his supposed girlfriend is being assaulted at the 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos? Not a good one. I think that now Shawne is free from the trivial matters of football, he can focus on things that really matter, like Tila Tequila.”
