McCoy decides to cash in draft insurance during the first quarter
PASADENA -University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy left the first quarter of the BCS National Championship game on Thursday night, claiming he was injured in order to cash in on his NFL draft insurance. McCoy and his family had signed up for draft insurance last fall in case he got hurt during senior year before going into the NFL draft. As a result of the injury, he could stand to get millions from this. "It's all part of God's plan," said McCoy after the game. "He wanted me to cash it in, instead of playing through the pain and trying to win a national championship. It was earlier in the game than I thought, but who am I to argue? Jesus called that play. He said run the ball, go down on a puss hit and head to the locker room to call your insurance agent. I prayed to Jesus after the hit but all he kept saying over and over was 'Cha-ching, cha-ching, Colt. Cha-ching, cha-ching, baby!'"
