Maryland Penitentiary to rename Cell Block 6 ‘Ray Lewis Way’

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Ravens star linebacker Ray Lewis was honored this weekend by being the first pro athlete to have a penitentiary cell block named after him. “We’d like to honor Ray for his great play with the Ravens,” said Maryland governor Martin O’Malley. “We’d also like to keep Baltimore’s reputation for being filled with crime and murderers, so we thought we’d name one of our cell blocks after the city’s most famous murderer of all.” At the unveiling of the new plaque and statue outside cell block six, Lewis was given an oversized pair of scissors to cut the ceremonial ribbon. There was an argument and four people were pronounced dead from stab wounds. It is unsure if Ray Lewis was responsible as all eye witness accounts so far say they were blinded by the sun during the murders and saw nothing.
