K-Rod Is Son in Law
New York Mets star closer Francisco "K-Rod" Rodriguez was charged with third-degree assault following an altercation with his father-in-law at Citi Field Wednesday night. K-Rod, who was frustrated that Mets manager Jerry Manuel refused to use him in the eighth inning of the team's 6-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies, allegedly hit his father-in-law in the back of the head. The all-time single-season saves leader has always been known for his temper, but this is the most egregious outburst of his major league career. After spending the night in Mets' team jail, he faces misdemeanor charges. Luckilly, he is unlikely to see any jail time and will be able to continue to close for New York, as well as starring in the 2010 remake of the classic 1993 film Son In Law, replacing Pauly Shore.
