Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari is in the news again for the wrong reasons. According to a report this weekend in the New York Times, Wildcat star freshman Eric Bledsoe, recruited by Calipari for many years even while he was at Memphis, only became eligible to play in the NCAA after his high school transcript was doctored during his senior year. If the allegations prove true, the UK program may be forced to vacate victories from the 2009-2010 season. Although Calipari has not been directly linked to any wrongdoing, the story presents another example of one of his programs being involved in a recruiting controversy. He also had similar issues, of course, at the University of Massachusetts and Memphis. All of his travails are documented in the new Calipari autobiography, Cheat 2 Win, which is available in all major bookstores nationally.
