James Harrison's Journal

We’d like to look at James Harrison’s outspoken interview with Men’s Health and think that he’s trying to be a good teammate by diverting media attention away from Hines Ward’s DUI arrest earlier this week. But considering he openly called Ben Roethlisberger a Peyton Manning wanna-be and Rashard Mendenhall a fumble machine in the article, it’s safe to say the “good teammate descriptor” doesn’t really apply here.

Though those guys shouldn't feel bad, because Harrison saved his true hatred for the New England Patriots, Brian Cushing and Roger Goodell, of whom Harrison said, “If that man was on fire and I had to piss to put him out, I wouldn’t do it. I hate him and will never respect him.” Lovely.

While you may want to criticize Harrison for his comments, you shouldn’t. Primarily because he’s a huge, scary man who will kill you. But also because it’s not healthy to keep anger pent up. In fact, when the lockout started, preventing Harrison from venting his rage, we suggested he start keeping a journal—and he did. And here is what he wrote.
