Favre’s commitment to Vikings starts week 1, will end sometime before Super Bowl
MINNESOTA — Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has spent more time talking to the media than practicing with his teammates since arriving back in Minnesota last week. But he swears he is committed to the team. “The reason I came back was because I felt I owed it to the guys,” said Favre, 45 minutes into his post-game press conference. “I am truly, one hundred percent committed to the guys in this locker room.” Favre was reminded he has only played four plays with his team this pre-season. “Well I’m not committed to the team just yet,” said Favre. “Week one, that’s when I’ll commit. Beyond that I can only say my commitment to the team will end somewhere between week ten and the NFC Championship game. Somewhere between that period of time is where I’ll lose interest and fake an injury and tank, or I’ll want all the glory for myself and throw a stupid interception when I should just throw it away or take a knee. Really the only thing worse than us not winning the Super Bowl this year would be for someone like Adrian Peterson to get all the glory. If I see him doing better than me, you can bet your ass I’m hanging it up early. For the guys.”
