Ducks fly home for winter
EUGENE — With their victory over the Oregon State Beavers on Thursday night, the Oregon Ducks will be heading to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1995. “It’s great to see these kids who’ve played a couple years here in Eugene head back home to Southern California,” said head coach Chip Kelly. Most of the students on the Oregon football team are originally from the Southern California area but were recruited to play for Kelly’s program in the state to the north. “They are probably really homesick so it will be nice for them to get back to their friends and family. But they do love all of these Oregonians rooting them on to get back home.” To help aid recruiting even more, school officials are considering opening a new branch: University of Oregon-Santa Monica.
