Dice-K Endorses Home Plate Nibbles
Since coming to the United States, Boston Red Sox hurler Daisuke Matsusaka has been maddeningly inconsistent on the mound. Dice-K has displayed excellent stuff, but his frustrating tendency to nibble around the plate leads to high pitch counts and walk totals. After nearly no-hitting the Philadelphia Phillies his last time out, Matsusaka was wild as ever on Thursday night against the Kansas City Royals, walking eight while throwing 112 pitches in just 4 2/3 innings. Hitter after hitter, he nibbled around the plate, working deep, drawn out counts to one of the most aggressive lineups in the majors, one that includes free-swingers such as Mike Aviles and Jose Guillen. On the bright side, though, Matsusaka is the perfect spokesman for the newest portable snack, Home Plate Nibbles.
