Derek Anderson gives Browns fans something to cheer about again
CLEVELAND - Cleveland Browns fans love their team. So much in fact, when they learned Derek Anderson was cut by the team, they went down to the stadium, filled the stands and gave a standing ovation. "Derek has always given the fans of this team something to cheer about," said Browns coach Eric Mangini. "He has inspired them with his injuries, sick days and that time he missed the plane to Baltimore. But this one takes the cake. These fans will be clapping and cheering for day." Jim Shorts, president of Cleveland Browns fan club, the Dawg Pound was also excited. "What a great guy that Derek Anderson, " said Shorts. "The only way we'd cheer more was if he lost both of his arms in a tragic farming accident with a runaway combine. But this'll do just fine."
