
Crosby's Lesser Known Streaks
Those hoping that Sidney Crosby would carry his historic scoring streak into Saturday’s Winter Classic are out of luck. Rick “15 Years” DiPietro and the lowly Islanders snapped Crosby’s 25-game scoring tear, the longest such streak in the NHL since Crosby’s former landlord, Mario Lemieux, scored in 28 consecutive games during the ’92-’93 season. While Crosby’s recent streak may have been his most famous, it’s hardly his only, or even his longest. As this chart shows, Sid the Kid has racked up quite a few other impressive streaks during his career.
