Chiefs cut Larry Johnson
KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Chiefs have released running back Larry Johnson today. Johnson repeatedly twitted gay slurs about head coach Todd Haley and the media. “We want to move on from being an organization that tolerates bigoted speech,” said general manager Scott Pioli, “and strive to be an organization that tolerates thugs, losers, and has-beens.” The Chiefs are 1-7 and have not made the playoffs since 2006. “But at least we don’t have anyone who uses negative words that could be construed as offensive to certain social groups.” Pioli said. “If you want to be a Kansas City Chief, you don’t have to be good at football, heck, you don’t even have to be a contributing member of society, but you do have to keep your mouth shut.”
