Brett Favre will pull the kid from this burning building as soon as someone puts up a billboard about what a hero he is
MINNEAPOLIS — Early Wednesday morning a four-alarm fire broke out at an apartment building near the Minnesota Vikings practice facility. Quarterback Brett Favre just happened to be passing by the location to get an early workout in when he was stopped by a frantic mother who asked for help to save her son trapped in the building. “I asked him, ‘please, please help my son, he’s trapped in the building,’” said Kendra Watkins, mother of 4-year-old Jamaal, who was trapped. “He just looked around and said, ‘Do you know who I am? I’m Brett Favre. Well tell you what. When I see a billboard saying Brett Favre’s a baby-saving hero, I’ll consider it.’ I couldn’t believe it. Another man rushed into the building and pulled out my baby. Thank God he’s okay, no thanks to Brett Favre.” Head coach Brad Childress had this to say about Favre’s non-heroic moment: “I’m not surprised. You saw what we had to do to get him back here. Billboards. ESPN. Teammates flying down to Mississippi and begging him. F*ck. I had to pay Jim Kelly ten grand to call up Brett and tell him to win one more for him.”
