Bobby Knight disappointed in quality of NCAA cheating

INDIANAPOLIS — Former Indiana Hoosiers coach Bobby Knight lashed out at college basketball and cited Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari as an example. “Back in the day, we cheated and no one found out,” said Knight. “Now they do it and everyone knows; these guys should be fired for not being able to keep this hidden.” Knight waxed poetic about the glory days of cheating in the NCAA. “You could beat a player and you knew he’d never tell anyone. You could bribe refs to get calls, high school coaches to get the best recruits. There was a code. But that’s long gone. It’s a shame. I’m glad I’m not coaching anymore.” Knight also said he would have had a few valuable tips for Tiger Woods if he would have called him a month ago.
