Big Baby Continues Boston's Predictions

You think they would have learned by now, huh? As the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are set to play Game 7 of the NBA Finals Thursday night, Glen "Big Baby" Davis had  he wanted to get off his mind on Wednesday:

"This is what it's all about. You guys are going to remember this moment. I can't wait. I can't wait to step up on the floor and win here in L.A. We'll come to play, we'll compete, and we'll be there at the end holding the trophy."

Hmmmm... After Paul Pierce has gone 0-for-2 in his Lame Playoff Predictions so far this year, you would think the astute Doc Rivers would tell his players to simply shut up. Against Orlando, Pierce told Magic fans after Game 2 that the series won't be coming back to Orlando (since the Celts had three at home). It did.

Then after taking Game 2 of the Finals in Los Angeles, Pierce uttered the same premise to anybody in L.A. who wanted to listen. Well, here we are Paul. Not only did the series come back to L.A., but after a 22-point Laker ass kicking and a knee injury to Kendrick Perkins in Game 6, the Lakers ride a little momentum into tonight's game and have one less big body to deal with in the paint.

To Big Baby's credit, he has been pretty good this series. He has carried Boston at times when Perkins was too busy getting technical fouls and Rasheed Wallace was too busy being, um, Rasheed Wallace. But Baby is going to have to bring more than just energy and a big mouth to the court Thursday if he really wants to be getting sized up for a championship ring.
