Bengals Let Jets Win
EAST RUTHERFORD — The Cincinnati Bengals decided to rest their starters in the season finale versus the New York Jets in the 37-0 loss to the Jets Sunday. Playing the last game of the season, the Bengals knew if they won they would face a hot Houston Texans team in the first round of the playoffs, while a loss would pit them against the Jets. “We want the Jets,” said head coach Marvin Lewis. “I’m much more comfortable facing Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards than Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson that’s for sure.” When asked if he let the Jets win coach Lewis denied it. “J.T O’Sullivan tried his darnedest, okay?” said a defensive Lewis. The Jets will travel to Cincinnati instead of a handful of other much better teams this weekend.
