Bengals decide keeping playoff losing streak alive more important
CINCINNATI — When faced with the possibility of advancing in the playoffs for the first time since 1990, the Cincinnati Bengals decided to avoid it at all costs Saturday. “We looked at it and decided to a man that maintaining the longest playoff win drought in the NFL was more important than winning,” said head coach Marvin Lewis. “Last week we practiced really hard to lose to the Jets and we got it down. We tried to match what we did in the season finale and it worked.” New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan thought his team earned the win. “They can say they laid down but reality is we busted their ass,” said Ryan. Ryan also said Sanchez threw about 15 passes too many for his liking. The Bengals look to extend their playoff win drought to 20 seasons next year.
