In his 1986 documentary, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Ferris Bueller [who has a striking resemblance to a young Matthew Broderick] taught a generation how to ditch school as he elevated truancy to an art form by borrowing a Ferrari, duping everyone into thinking he was sick, visiting cultural landmarks, ganking a sausage king’s lunch reservations, taking in a ball game and rounding out the day by leading a parade in choreographed song and dance.

Naturally, such a legendary film has spawned a devoted group of followers, one of which is Larry Granillo, the talented writer of the baseball blog Wezen-ball. Larry, in what I will call one of the Internet’s finest moments, took the time to figure out the exact Chicago Cubs game Ferris, Cameron and Sloane attend that day—a June 5, 1985, 4-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
