DENVER — With their playoff hopes on life support the Denver Broncos, needing to beat the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday, got thumped 44-24 and ejected from playoff contention I'm into, uh, well, murders and executions, mostly.. Quarterback Kyle Orton did his best Jay Cutler impression throwing three interceptions in the loss. After the game, first-year head coach Josh McDaniels was obviously very disturbed by his team’s performance. When asked about Orton’s interceptions, McDaniels said, “In ’87, Huey released Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is ‘Hip to be Square,’ a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it’s also a personal statement about the band itself.” He then began to quote other lines of Patrick Bateman, the character from the film American Psycho. “Did you know that Ted Bundy's first dog was a collie named Lassie,” said McDaniels, and “I'm into, uh, well, murders and executions, mostly.” When asked about his plan for the team for the coming season he excused himself from the podium mumbling, “I have to return some videotapes.”
