The N.L. Gold Glove awards were announced this afternoon. And, while there were not any Derek Jeter-level mistakes, it was disappointing to see that Philadelphia Phillies second baseman was again snubbed from winning some Gold. Utley made some defensive blunders in the postseason, but that was really more of an aberration than anything else. In reality, according to one advanced metric, he was the best defender at the keystone in the majors this season.
