I’m about ambivalent towards the Foo Fighters as one can possibly be. I don’t think they suck, but I’m not buying tickets to their show either. If anything, I side with Big Lead blogger Stephen Douglass and think most of their songs sound the same—but they have discernable talent, have kept a substantial amount of rock cred in an increasingly pop world and Grohl was the drummer for one of the most influential bands of all time—which is enough to put them above any sort of severe reproach.

But it’s interesting that Grohl bemoaned the lack of vocal or instrumental integrity in music and then took the stage with Deadmau5, David Guetta, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, a group of of people who lack Grohl’s definition of musical integrity—and in the case of Chris Brown, lack any integrity whatsoever.
